Experience the richness of Welsh culture and community in a surprising and beautiful setting -
springtime in Welsh Patagonia and Buenos Aires, Argentina!
Whether you’re a lover of things Welsh or Spanish, cultural exchange, nature and wildlife,
adventure travel, or a singer, there’ll be something to thrill you on this tour.
Our extraordinary journey begins in cosmopolitan, vibrant Buenos Aires – the Paris of South
America – where shopping, sidewalk cafes, historic architecture and tango all await. A city tour,
led by our experienced English-speaking guides, will take us through charming neighborhoods.
A river cruise to the historic port of Tigre will offer a relaxing trip to antique shops, an outdoor
market, riverside restaurants and pubs! Our three-day visit to Buenos Aires concludes with the
Welsh Choir’s performance at a beautiful, historic city-center church.
A short plane trip to San Carlos de Bariloche takes us to the gateway to Welsh Patagonia.
Experience the glacial blue Lago Nahuel Huapi in the Andes Mountains where we will prepare
to trace the route taken by Welsh colonists of the 1800s.
Crossing the Chubut Valley, we will meet the Welsh-speaking descendents of the early settlers
and discover the surprising confluence of Spanish and Welsh cultures.
We’ll even take a ride on the Old Patagonian Express steam train!
The North American Welsh Choir and its conductor, Mari Morgan, will give concerts in the
Welsh centers of Esquel and Trevelin in the Andes region and in Gaiman and Trelew on the east
coast, joined by local Welsh-Patagonian choirs.
Our tour ends at THE Welsh cultural festival – the Patagonia EISTEDDFOD in Trelew– with
some good-natured competition with Argentinean choirs.
Come with us to Argentina for YOUR experience of a lifetime. Our arrival in Patagonia will not
go unnoticed by some of the local residents!
